Description:

FiringJets was a piece that I created while trying to understand how people are thinking about war and the need for their own for safety and security.

The images and sounds were collected by doing image and video searches using google.com. In using this process, I believe that each time I search a particular subject term, the media that is returned to me are the most readily viewed by people in our culture. It is a way for me to understand how people are associating subjects like surveillance, militarization, security and freedom with the images and sounds that they are bombarded with daily.

The installation was composed of a six channel surround sound piece and a two channel video rear projection of the animating digital collages.
