“i am here” 2009 (3 Minutes 32 Seconds)

Description:

When I made this piece I was thinking about “the self” in art. I started pondering the importance of performance. Then I read, “Video: Aesthetics of Narcissism” by Rosalind Krauss and got to experience “Vertical Roll” by Joan Jonas all in the same couple of days, which prompted me to do experiment with my own feedback loop.

The performance utilized two video cameras and a television. While entering the feedback loop I breathed through a harmonica while using analog delay and other hardware to process the sound.
