“WarWeaponBody” 2008

Description:

This series of digital collages tries to understand how the body is understood in times of war. It was installed in a show with Stephen Vitiello at Sewanee University, Sewanee Tennessee in August 2008. The collages were animated and accompanied with an experimental sound piece. Greg Pond, a Sewanee professor and artist, created a program using Pure Data Extended (pd-extended) to create a system that scored the sound based on the images changes (color and contrast) in the animated collages. In essence the sound was scored by the images.
