“Fear” 2006 ()

“Fear” is a video that I created in response to seeing footage on YouTube of American military POWs being interrogated. I read through the user comments on the page and was upset by the lack up empathy for the POWs. There were arguments about politics along the lines of republican versus democrat but no one was speaking for the fear that was very apparent in the situation. I believe that it is a cultural coping mechanism to immediately speak about the world in the context of us versus them and not read into the emotional impact of the actual people involved.
